Does Mitirino Advance fit any wheelchair?

Mitirino Advance fits most wheelchairs without any modification required to the wheelchair. The only requirement to be able to use Advance, is to have the main wheels removable with a quick release pin.

However, certain wheelchair configurations might require additional adjustments in order to work with Advance. For example, some wheelchairs are designed in a way that the caster wheels base is wider than the base of the main wheels. Depending on how much wider the caster wheels are, it might be necessary to adjust Mitirino Advance’s front hubs. Another example is the fenders/mud guards on some wheelchairs. Depending on type of the fenders, it might be necessary to widen Mitirino Advance’s front hubs.

Can it go on sand and snow? Yes. How capable Mitirino is in these conditions varies greatly with the type of tires that you are using on the wheelchair and the tire installed on Advance. Wider and knobbier tires will generally provide greater off-road capability on soft surfaces, and a more plush ride on hard uneven surfaces.

Does Mitirino Advance have a manual version? At present, there is only an electric version. A manual and an electric assist versions are being design and will be available.

Can I control Mitirino Advance if the battery goes dead? Yes. You can decouple the steering control of Advance and use the push-rims to propel and steer your wheelchair manually in a similar way to controlling the wheelchair in its regular configuration.

Is Mitirino Advance covered by private insurance companies? Mitirino Advance is designated as a medical device in Canada, and is covered by most insurance companies.

Since the regulations for designating a medical device vary in every country, please call us and we will work with the local regulatory authority to designate Advance as a medical device.

Is Mitirino Advance available in my country? Short answer is Yes. Advance is available worldwide and we will ship it to you.

However, we only have local ambassadors in Canada currently. Mitirino is working on having local representatives in many countries. If you are interested in becoming a local ambassador, please give us a call.

Is there a factory warranty? Mitirino Advance comes with a 10 year frame warranty and we will fix all issues that were a result of normal usage. This warranty doesn’t extend to the battery and the tire. There are also maintenance package options and we will work with your local bicycle shops to provide roadside assistance and yearly tune-up.
